A young woman died following a fall at the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne Miami hotel early Friday evening, authorities said.

The woman, a guest at the hotel, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead there, said Police Chief Frank Sousa. She was not a Key Biscayne resident, and foul play was not suspected, he said.

As per standard practice, the case is now being investigated by Miami-Dade homicide detectives. Details were not further described and Miami-Dade police said no information would be released until Monday.
